Another week, and with it, another honour bestowed upon us here at The White Lion Weston in Weston, Crewe. As a historic pub, restaurant, and hotel, we are immensely proud to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award. This recognition holds special significance for us, as it reflects the genuine feedback of our guests who have taken the time to share their experiences after booking through OpenTable.
Each visitor who dines with us is invited to rate key aspects of their experience, including our service, ambience, the quality of our food, and the overall value for money. We are pleased to say that it is this consistent positive feedback that has allowed us to earn such a coveted accolade. To us, it is more than just an award – it’s a reflection of the care, effort, and attention to detail we put into making every meal, every visit, and every overnight stay a memorable one.
What makes this achievement all the more exciting is that it comes on the heels of other wonderful news. Recently, we were named finalists for the ‘Best Restaurant/Food Business’ category in the UK Small Business Awards. For a community-focused pub like ours, it is moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.

In addition to these exciting developments, we have recently unveiled a brand-new menu, freshly prepared by our talented six-strong kitchen team, led by our Head Chef Conor Kiddie. This new menu is a celebration of British pub classics. Each dish is crafted with care, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, and we couldn’t be prouder of the response we’ve had from diners so far.
